Relevance[ edit ] Organizational learning happens as a function of experience within an organization and allows the organization to stay competitive in an ever-changing environment. Organizational learning is a process improvement that can increase efficiency, accuracy, and profits. A real-world example of organizational learning is how a new pizza store will reduce the cost per pizza as the cumulative production of pizzas increases. During the system construction stage a descriptive framework has been evolved, emphasising four critical contexts namely the strategic context, the Knowledge context, the Organizational context and the Technological context.

Both within case and cross case analyses are carried out with the cases with respect to the strategic, knowledge, organisatonal and the technological contexts. An attempt is made to position both organisations on a Regions of practice RoP matrix and draw inferences on the existing KM system on the basis of the context and the level for employee involvement.

An attempt was also made to put forth certain valid finality relations on the basis of the analysis of the data collected during the theory building stage of the select systems.
